Team officials would not elaborate and authorities said that this one is best left unsolved.

“It’s just one of those random events that you really can’t protect yourself from,” Kings president Geoff Petrie said. “But he will get better. It’s unfortunate for him and for us in that he’s one of our most dedicated players in terms of his conditioning and following through on all his exercises and then his competitive spirit. He’s a good teammate. We’re not going to have him for a while.”
