Luongo rich and stinking
Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo recently received at 12-year, $64 million contract by the same Vancouver Canucks that he actually plays for. And apparently, he decided that he doesn’t have to earn it.
The Canucks are 0-3 and Luongo was pulled in the 2nd period last night in a 5-3 loss in their home opener against the Blue Jackets.
“Obviously, I didn’t have a great game,” Luongo said. “We got ourselves into a hole early and it was kind of like the first couple of games, we tried to battle back. It’s tough to make comebacks in this league.”
Through three games, Luongo has a putrid .820 save percentage and is averaging 4.55 goals against. He’s not the only reason the Canucks stink so far (too many odd-man rushes?), but his play is leaving a lot to be desired.
